Pre-Launch Checklist

Feb 3, 2026

You've customized everything. Now catch the mistakes before your audience sees them.

Review All Content

Read every page as if you're visiting for the first time.

Look for:

  • Placeholder content ("Phone numbers," "Company Name Here," sample emails)

  • Template example content you forgot to replace

  • Inconsistent descriptions (some services detailed, others brief)

  • Missing information (incomplete team bios, partial service lists)

Fresh perspective reveals issues you became blind to after hours of editing.

Test Every Link

Broken links kill credibility instantly.

Click through:

  • All navigation links (test from multiple pages)

  • Footer links

  • Inline content links

  • Button actions

  • Social media icons

  • Form submissions

External links should open in new tabs. Internal links should stay in the same tab.

Forms need special attention: Submit with test data, verify you receive the email, check redirects or thank you pages.

Check All Images

Review with a critical eye:

Quality check:

  • Are images sharp or pixelated?

  • Do they load quickly?

  • Are they properly licensed if stock photos?

  • Do they have descriptive alt text?

Responsive check:

  • Do they work at desktop, tablet, mobile?

  • Are important parts cropped awkwardly on any screen size?

  • Do they cause page lag?

Replace any stretched, distorted, or blurry images. Better to remove a problem image than publish it.

The Mobile Review

Open every page on your actual phone—not just desktop preview.

Tap everything:

  • Are buttons large enough? (44x44px minimum)

  • Are links properly spaced?

  • Do forms use correct keyboards? (email keyboard for email fields, number pad for phones)

Read through content:

  • Does text feel overwhelming on small screens?

  • Do headings provide clear structure?

  • Does the reading flow feel natural?

Performance Check

Test speed with Google PageSpeed Insights or GTmetrix.

Focus on:

  • Image file sizes (photos under 200KB usually)

  • Largest Contentful Paint (under 2.5s)

  • Critical issues first (moving 60→90 matters more than 90→95)

Framer sites are fast by default, but large images slow things down.

Test Forms Thoroughly

  1. Fill out with test data and submit

  2. Verify confirmation message/redirect

  3. Check you receive submission email

  4. Test error handling (submit incomplete data)

  5. Confirm required field validation works

  6. Try on mobile device

Document where submissions go and how to access them.

Browser Compatibility

Test in at least two browsers: Chrome, Safari, Firefox, or Edge.

Pay special attention to Safari on iPhone—it handles some things differently. Check animations, forms, and layouts.

SEO Final Check

Every page needs:

  • Unique title tag (under 60 characters)

  • Meta description (120-160 characters)

  • OG image for social sharing

  • Clean URL

  • Proper indexing setting (published pages indexed, drafts not)

Preview in Facebook and Twitter's preview tools to see exactly what appears when shared.

The Complete Checklist

  • All placeholder content replaced

  • All images have alt text

  • Every link tested and working

  • Forms submit successfully

  • Site tested on desktop, tablet, phone

  • Site tested in multiple browsers

  • Page speed acceptable

  • All pages have proper SEO settings

  • Social previews work correctly

  • Analytics set up and working

  • Custom domain connected (if applicable)

Soft Launch First

Publish but don't announce yet. Share with a few trusted people for honest feedback.

Give it 1-2 days, fix any issues found, then do your official launch.

This staged approach catches embarrassing problems before they go public.

After Launch

Set monthly reminders to:

  • Check for broken links (external sites change)

  • Update outdated content

  • Verify forms still work

  • Review analytics for issues

Sites drift over time. Regular maintenance keeps yours professional.

Quick Tip: Create a simple spreadsheet listing all your pages, key features, and testing status. Check items off as you test. This prevents the "I think I tested that" uncertainty that leads to missed issues.
